macOS GUI variant flag limitations prevent daemon configuration changes

How to detect:

The macOS GUI variants (App Store and zip download) do not support changing tailscaled flags, unlike the standard tailscaled binary. This prevents configuration of debug server, custom ports, state backends, and other daemon-level settings.

Recommended action:

For full daemon configurability on macOS, use the non-GUI installation method which provides the standard tailscale/tailscaled binary split. GUI variants should be used only when flag-level configuration is not required. Check installation method and consider switching if daemon flags are needed.
