Cost & Efficiency Under Real Workload

Waste or overspend that becomes visible only when utilization, architecture, and configuration are analyzed together.

1. Which resources are significantly over-provisioned relative to peak utilization?

Identify resources where peak utilization consistently stays well below provisioned capacity; include instance type, observed utilization range, and right-sizing recommendation.

2. Which workloads are candidates for reserved vs. spot capacity?

Analyze workload stability to classify services as candidates for reserved capacity (steady-state) vs. spot/preemptible (bursty, disruption-tolerant).

3. What is the cost per transaction / per user / per request for each service?

Compute cost per transaction, per user, or per request for each service by joining business-level volume metrics with infrastructure spend and shared dependency costs.

4. Are any services over-investing in reliability relative to their error budget consumption?

Correlate SLO attainment with replica/redundancy settings and cost allocation to identify services that are over-investing in reliability relative to their error budget consumption.
